If you cannot go, you can hand your ticket to someone else from your own ticket page. You do not need the organizer to do it for you.
Offering it
On your ticket page, find Can't make it? and press Transfer this ticket. Enter their email address and name, then send the offer.
Nothing changes yet
Your ticket keeps working. The QR still scans and you could still walk in. It only becomes theirs when they claim it — so an offer that gets ignored costs you nothing.
While an offer is out, your page shows "Waiting for them to claim" and a Withdraw the offer button.
What they do
They open the link and give their own name, optionally a phone number, and answer any questions the event asks about each attendee — a t-shirt size, a dietary note. Their answers replace yours, which is the point: the organizer needs details for the person actually turning up.
The moment they submit, the ticket is theirs and your link stops working.
The rules
After you have passed it on
Your old screenshot of the QR still shows the same code — the code does not change when a ticket changes hands. But the ticket admits one person once, so if you turned up with it the new holder would be refused at the door. Once you have handed it on, treat it as gone.
Send the offer to the right address
The claim link is what transfers the ticket. Check the address before you send it, and if you get it wrong, withdraw the offer rather than sending a second one. A withdrawn offer does not use up your one transfer.
If they never claim it
Nothing happens, and that is by design. Your ticket is still yours and still works, and you can withdraw the offer and go after all — or send it to somebody else.
