On this rail buyers pay straight into your own UPI address. The money is yours the moment it lands — it never passes through us, and there is nothing to settle.
Set your collection UPI id first
Settings → Direct UPI collection. Two fields:
- Collection UPI id (VPA) — the address buyers pay. This is shown publicly, on the checkout page of every event on this rail.
- Payee name shown to buyers — what their payment app displays. Advisory; their bank has the final word on what it renders.
An event on this rail cannot be published without it
There is nowhere for the money to go, so publishing is refused until a collection id is set. If you hit that message on the publish button, this is the field it means.
This is a different field from your payout UPI id
Payout is where we pay you. Collection is where buyers pay you. Same string shape, opposite exposure — one is masked, the other is printed on a public page. Separate sections of the settings form, deliberately.
What the buyer sees
A UPI QR they can scan with any UPI app, an "open in UPI app" link for phones, and the payee name, address, amount and order reference in copyable text. Then a box asking for the UTR — the 12-digit transaction reference their payment app shows after a transfer.
Their seats are held while they do this. Because a human has to confirm the payment, this hold is much longer than the gateway's: up to 3 hours, and never past the end of the event.
Then it waits for you
A submitted reference is not a payment
A buyer typing twelve digits proves nothing on its own. It mints no ticket, moves no seat count and touches nothing. Only your approval issues a ticket, and there is deliberately no way to make that automatic — an automatic version of this rail is "type twelve digits, get in free".
The order sits at Awaiting verification. Your orders page shows a banner counting them, and the order stats panel has a tile that filters straight to them.
Approving is one screen: Verifying a UPI payment about verifying a upi payment.
What this rail cannot do
Worth knowing before you choose it.
Check pending orders before an event closes
A hold cannot outlive the event. If an order is still unverified when the event ends, its seats go back — and if the buyer really paid, you are holding money against an order that can no longer issue a ticket. Clear the awaiting-verification list before the last day.
